Tricky Tray 13!
The number 13 might be an unlucky number sometimes – but this year – it just may be your lucky number! Come out and support the Deacons on Saturday, November 3 as we host our largest fundraiser of the year – The Tricky Tray! Doors will open at 5 pm, and our meal this year will be a pasta bar (complete with salad, bread, desserts, and our delicious sherbert punch). All proceeds will benefit our Needy Family Fund, which assists those who need a helping hand in Elkton with medical expenses, bills, and much more. Bring a bag on non-expired, non-perishable food, help to fill our Food Pantry for the winter months, and receive 1 free sheet of level one tickets. There is a limit of 1 free sheet of tickets per individual.
In that first paragraph, I’m sure you noticed the term “level one”. That’s right – this year we are having 3 levels of prizes – Level One, Level Two, and you guessed it, Level Three. Each level will have a range of value for those prizes – for instance, level one may have prizes that are valued under $50. Level Three is our grand prize level, and we are hoping to provide you with a few different grand prize options this year. It will be extremely easy to follow – trust us – and will make it much easier for everyone to know the values of the prizes!
We love donations of prizes! If you’ve never been to the Tricky Tray before, there will be approximately 200 prizes you can win – possibly more. All church members are welcome, and encouraged, to donate a prize which can be given to Debi or Brian Heusser, any Deacon, or dropped off in the church office. Prizes can be gift cards, a gift basket, new toys for all age groups, cooking needs – the sky is the limit. If you would like to donate antiques, we only ask that they are in good condition. If you have any questions about what to donate, contact Debi or Brian Heusser.
We mentioned this on Facebook, and now it’s here! We are also offering Ticket Pre-Sales for one day this year, which will take place during the Soup and Sandwich on October 7th. If you pre-purchase your ticket bundles on Oct. 7, you will receive a discount. Please see the ad in this newsletter which will list regular Tricky Tray pricing as well as the discount you will receive if you pre-order! You will not have the option to take your tickets home with you on October 7th, but it will save you money (and hopefully some time) to do so!
We’ve stayed a little quiet with some of the prizes this year – and wanted to list a few. You could win Nascar tickets at the Dover International Speedway, a DNA kit and World Explorers Package from Ancestry.com, pillows from MyPillow, a bed and breakfast stay at Fairwinds, and much much more!
Wondering where some of the new ideas came from? Brian and I finally attended a Tricky Tray in Jersey, and are ecstatic to be bringing some new and fresh ideas into our church! There are other ideas that you just won’t see until you walk in the doors on November 3rd! So, come out, have a great meal, win some incredible prizes, enjoy the halftime show (because you just might be a part of it!), and get ready to support the Needy Family Fund and fill our Food Pantry! It’s almost here! The countdown is on!
