Missions at EPC

The Mission Team of Elkton Presbyterian Church not only plans mission trips, but also supports local and global mission groups. We have noted a few of our mission groups below, and encourage you to support some, if not all, of these great causes.

Starfish Project
Starfish Project

The Starfish Project was created by Dale Collins, who is a member of E.P.C. This organization assists our church members and friends with multiple tasks such as yardwork, assisting with transportation to doctor visits, small home repairs and more. Assistance through Starfish is completely anonymous, and can be obtained by contacting Dale Collins. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please see Dale for more information.

Youth Empowerment Source (YES) is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing critical supports to children, youth and families in the Mid Atlantic region. With a strong focus on prevention and education, YES equips youth and families with the tools young people need to reach successful adulthood.

Paris Foundation
Paris Foundation

The Paris Foundation is a Christian non-profit organization serving the poor and homeless in Elkton, Maryland, where we provide food and clothing on a daily basis.

By partnering with The Paris Foundation, you're not just helping a homeless person off the street and moving them toward rehabilitation - you're helping transform a life, heal a family, bring reconciliation and break the cycle of destructive behavior or poverty - from generation to generation. It is about reaching out to one person at a time to help meet their immediate needs and introduce them to the hope that only God can provide- so they can truly make real changes in their life. Wholeness Replacing Brokenness- Dignity Replacing Depravity.

Each person we help can be the key to ending the cycle of poverty, homelessness and despair for a whole family.

You can partner with The Paris Foundation in many ways: volunteer, mentor, prayer partner, food or clothing donation, or a financial donation. We accept no government funds and we use the EFCA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) standards as our own.

Do you want to support us by helping with our work? Then do not hesitate to contact us. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!

Deep Roots
Deep Roots

In addition to serving as a homeless shelter for children and families in the community, Deep Roots works with children, who are disconnected through homelessness or other similar marginalization: connecting hearts. Our program will challenge children to envision a brighter future, to sustain healthy relationships and to navigate a course towards personal and social responsibility through better life experiences, with mentors, providing healthy life-models for all future relationships.

Optimized Process

The Peace & Global Witness Offering is received during the Season of Peace, which ends on World Communion Sunday. However, you can help sustain the important PC(USA) ministries and programs that are supported by this important Offering by making an online gift at any time throughout the year. Checks can be mailed care of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to P.O. Box 643700; Pittsburgh, PA 15264-3700.

A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of injustice across the world. Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize up to 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ's peace. Mid councils retain an additional 25% for ministries of peace and reconciliation. The remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.

A gift to One Great Hour of Sharing enables the church to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and helping to empower the poor and oppressed. Find an interactive world map with One Great Hour of Sharing recipients here.
